Did you explore other alternator options before deciding on the DC Alt? Not bashing, but there's more options granted the pricing for the power.

I'd suggest the 5100r and perhaps 3-4 XP950s. Should hold you over pretty well and not kill the bank too bad.

A buddy of mine is running a stock 100amp alt with the ct 3k and a rockford p400.4, big 3, D2400, and 4 D680s and stays above 12v if that gives you an idea.

Imo power supply greater than power storage.

Mechman or singer 200-250 amp alt 350-450 plus upgraded batt and extra Batt 400. Total 750-850

180amp alt 350-400 plus upgraded stock batt and 2 extra batts 600. Total 950-1000.

in short storage can cost more the supply and once drained they create more demand on you alt.

a 180 amp alt is good but Won't keep up as well.

3krms amp in music will pull 200+ amperage. 4k will pull 250+. Then the car needs power. So 4k rms worth of amps plus the car your looking at around 300amps give or take depending voltage drop.

all that on a 180 amp alt (closer to stock output or less at idle) and 2-3 batts might not work out the best. Do t get your hoped up of good voltage.
