the one flaw I see in the box is you got a 45 in the corner but not on the actual port as well. its crucial to keep the same port width making the bend with 45s. Joe x stressed this issue to me when I built my box. I personally don't like doing 45s.

yeah, i am going to be re making the box soon. im going to be taking out the box, and building a false floor in the trunk to get a good base to work on. also, it will make it easier to seal off the trunk if i decide to in the future :)

  • 5 months later...

Well hopefully winter has left us for good here in wisconsin. it was 65 degrees today so I got some time to do a little work on my car. wanted to tame some of my rattles so I took off my rear deck lid and got some work done.

here is what it looked like to start off:

IMG_07081.jpg

cut some 6mm wood to cover the 6x9 holes in the deck lid

IMG_07091.jpg

IMG_07101.jpg

put some liquid nails around the hole to ensure a seal around the hole

IMG_07111.jpg

IMG_07121.jpg

wanted to make this bar solid so i filled it with the good stuff

thats it for now. have 4 more sheets of qmat to put down, and will be getting some more of the spray foam to spray in every hole in my trunk. with the warm weather here to stay (hopefully) i will be getting a lot more work done!

Put about 5 big cans of the good stuff in my trunk. shaved off the excess with the help of my girlfirend:

got some sky high 1/0 to 1/0 inputs

put an xs power d3400 up front. will be getting some terminal blocks to make the wiring look a lot better in the future, but this will work for now.

IMG_07331.jpg

put all of the carpet back in after spraying all of the foam

and made the speaker, bass control, and rca wires look better

Deadened the top of my rear deck lid along with some of the sides, and plugged a lot of the small holes

Pulled out all of the carpeting and stripped it clean. will deaden the floor and build a false floor to start the build off of. Gonna be sealing off the trunk!

But if you want more, I posted some videos of us at a car show. There's a vid of her in the hot seat of 6 SMD 18's and a couple of other demos. :)
