Joe X Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 To access your low tuning (34Hz) with the box above you will need a single 4" pipe plug, something like this: http://www.lowes.com/pd_526976-1816-882-4_0__?productId=50083546 If you have any questions, let me know.
irnlve Posted May 30, 2014 Author Report Posted May 30, 2014 so.. as i was about to start cutting this nice sheet of birch up, i landed another pair of the exact same subs.. i apologize for having to ask joe, but would you do the honor of designing a box for all 4 of these in the same vehicle please? me seeing through to the rear window is not a concern.. wall behind the rear seats? rear seats will fold down and it will be all open to the backs of the front seats during play time, but i have to keep my rear seats usable.. so all the space behind the rear seats top to bottom is yours to play with..
Joe X Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 No wall for those 4 12s, it's still possible to do something like the above but larger, can you increase your max dims as possible? Also I guess you are going with different amplification, post that if you have decided already.
irnlve Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 alright, i took some measurements.. i have 21d x 25h x 35w and 21d gives me 4" behind the box to the tailgate, 25h gives me plenty space over the top but has that slanted rear window, and 35w gives me a inch of play side to side.. thats one idea second way 31h x 14d x 35w this closes off the rear window for the most part but has more space at the bottom rear of it i couldn't use due to the slanted window in rear...
irnlve Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 i will have 2 of the same amps i have now
irnlve Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 i will go measure again and have the 45 deg window figured into the space i have, one moment..
kirill007 Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 What is a dd-1 ? It's an easy to use device that helps you setting your gains properly, it can save your subs from cooking due to amp clipping, if you don't/can't want to buy one, someone on this forum living near you who owns the DD-1 can help you setting your gains with the device. So that you know what is it here's a link: http://www.wccaraudio.com/front-page-categories/most-popular-products/smd-distortion-detector-dd-1.html I just want to forward you some infos before you get into building your box. Subs only cook due to overpowering. The DD-1 isn't going to help you if use the wrong amp.(although that amp and sub combo should be no problem at all) Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
irnlve Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 well i took a pic of the measurements but i have no clue how to post it, so here goes rear panel 25h front panel 30h bottom 25d top 12d angle panel on rear is about 11" from rear panel to top panel all are 35w those are absolute max dimensions i have
irnlve Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 that closes off the rear and goes nearly to the roof...
irnlve Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 Dont design yet joe, subs have changed to 4 10" american bass tnt I just got them brand new.. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I'm sure you will agree these are much better.
