Pricing a used car on CL, Etc

Craigslist is a card game really. They will always try to find a way to get something cheaper so yea price it a bit higher

I would pick a number on the high end between the KBB value and what similar cars are posted for. Just remember to price high so that you can come down and the buyer feels as though they are getting a good deal.

Remember your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. So with that in mind, you have to decide how patient you are. Have your bottom dollar set in your head before you list and price 2k - 3k higher.

You can always lower the price for a buyer but never raise it.

Also, take pictures for god sakes! I , personally, pass up adds that don't have a picture. Furthermore, if there are any flaws you mention in your add, take a good picture of it and include it with your post. I (maybe its just me) will not respond to an add that is half thought out, has bad spelling, is vague, and doesn't include pictures.

Gotcha. Thanks for the advice. Another question though, are there any other good online dealers to buy / sell cars. I'm looking for a WRX at te same time I'm trying to sell my accord, but I was wondering if there was more than CL and pre used inventory at dealerships. I know there's yahoo cars and stuff, but I was hoping y'all could narrow it down for me after CL. Thanks.

I've used craigslist so much to buy cars in the past 10 years looking at dealers has been depressing. lol

You can use cars.com to search used inventory. Private and dealers post on there. Plus you can narrow your search to specifics you want i.e. 5spd.

I usually am pretty patient when buying a car since I have to buy used and i just decide what I want and search craigslist religiously. Also I the app I have for my phone lets you set alerts for a certain search when new things are posted.
