Admit it, does ANYBODY actually use fade or balance? you still keep you L/R stereo, and verrrry few songs have different F/R tracks. Running them active off the amp allows you to change xover frequencies and allows for some rough EQ changes. Definitely better than passive.

A couple links to some box builds:

Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI,

Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150

My own car builds (current setup --- under construction):

Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors

Subwoofer Wall

Well personally I still use balance and fade.... and to be honest whats the point of going active if you are going to limit the control you have? Isn't the whole point to gain more control?

Sub Amp:American Bass VFL 500.1

You do gain control...over your xover points and the amount of power youre putting to your mids/highs...which i find a lot more important than fade/balance...and you still keep your L/R fade ability, just not your F/R

your still limiting what an active system is suppose to be..... if your not going to do it right whats the point of doing it at all? I am not saying you can't do it that way but what I am saying is there is no point in going active to still have bridged tweets and mids when everything should be done separate for total control.

Nismo if you are only worried about your front stage then do 1 speaker per channel

the thing is, with the 360.2 you CAN keep your front and rear intact.....and control them. If you decide to go active though, its easier to use (for example) "front" is now Tweeters, "Rear" is now "mids" and of course sub is still sub. (then you lose fader control, but F#ck it, at least you still have left and right :D)

if you want a true 3 way active setup (its four way but they still refer to it as three), you need 2 of these...

mine is:

360.2 (1) - Front is midrange, rear is midbass, sub is sub

360.2 (2) - Front is Tweet and the other channels are left alone......they are there for me if i need them but not used. Basicly one 3sixty.2 is ONLY tweets.

i coulda done midrange and midbass on one, and tweet, sub on the other......however i wanted, but this way was just as easy.

The caddy im doing uses 1 and is a active passive setup.

Rear is midbass, front is mids and highs (active into the amp and after the amp they will be seperated again with passive xovers), and sub is sub.

Nismo, do you plan on getting an RTA or finding someone with one you can borrow? a 3sixty.2 is a powerfull processor but its not an EQ like the one you sheet-rock screw to your ash trey and play with the sliders.....you really should know how to do basic tuning before you make the leap......and an RTA is almost a MUST. If you dont use one, you willhave no idea where your problems are occuring......unless you think you can pick 850hz out of the "line up" as a dip and 1500hz as a peak (etc) with your ears (which you wont be able to do).

this isnt just for Nismo, its for anyone with a 3sixty.2.....unless your using it JUST to integrate an OEM system and basic EQ functions, you will need an RTA to get to the nitty gritty. :D
