afrakes Posted May 21, 2014 Author Report Posted May 21, 2014 The rear deck can rattle as much as the lid if not more. Just cover it in deadener on top and bottom and that should help.HM ok. Double layer deadener is going to be used throughout the trunk lid and rear deck, rest of car being done too. Thanks for the input. Aj11 Posted May 22, 2014 Report Posted May 22, 2014 great stuff helps allOt! just pull anything it might fall on. cuz once its on... its on! if your firing threw the rear deck and you also want the subs up make sure you have a few inches of clearance. you dont want to suffocate your Subs. and i think that is your best bet. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)

Aj11 Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 no don't fire into the trunk with the port. i would do subs and port up threw the deck.lid. or subs facing trunk and port into the deck.lid jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
afrakes Posted May 23, 2014 Author Report Posted May 23, 2014 no don't fire into the trunk with the port. i would do subs and port up threw the deck.lid. or subs facing trunk and port into the deck.lid so you are saying to do subs back port up, or subs up port up? I can't say I have ever heard of a setup like that. Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT Head Unit: Pioneer DEH- Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front) Subs/Amps: TBD
Aj11 Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 i would either do subs up and port up into the rear deck. or do port up into rear deck and subs firing into trunk. i.would not not do subs into rear deck and port into trunk. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
afrakes Posted May 24, 2014 Author Report Posted May 24, 2014 i would either do subs up and port up into the rear deck. or do port up into rear deck and subs firing into trunk. i.would not not do subs into rear deck and port into trunk. May I ask your reasoning for this? Also there's not enough room for both the subs/ports firing into the rear deck (planning on using aeros). So port up subs back would be an option... food for thought I guess. Curious to see why you would do subs back and port up though. Wouldn't that choke the subs? In order to properly size this box there's only going to be about 2" between the box and back of car. slowfkncar Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 If you are trying to run 5k and maximize spl then your gonna want a 4th order blowthrough, otherwise just do a standard ported and cut open a big hole in the rear deck. Bmw's especially the newer ones with fiber deadener and a closed trunk firewall is tricky to get output, unless that is you want your 5krms system only doing high 130's at the windshield.

But cutting into the backseats for a blow though is out of the question. there is a stock spot on the rear deck that's already cut, its about 4" x 12". I was planning on extending this to around 12"x24". Think that hole will be big enough?
