So we have decided that the biggest amp we can fit in this build with proper electrical to back it is a 3.5 k. We are playing with the idea of a single Fi team 18 tuned low for daily bumping.

my question, is 3.5k enough power to move one of these woofers?

Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-

Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front)

Subs/Amps: TBD

Will it move it??? YES

Will it want more??? Fucking A it will. From what I have seen they like 5k to make them happy

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

Id do a mayhem ... youll be louder with that ....

not sure how you could know this for a fact. Not really considering other single 18 setups at this point. If the team won't do we r gunna do a pair of 15s.

I would go with 2 15's over a single 18.

Ive been told that if you dont have the power, for a large, consuming driver, a differnt one will have more output.

Ive been told, the bigger 4" coil, and stiffness will HURT you, if you do not feed the driver, the power it needs.

You would be better off, with LESS moving mass (coil, and softparts, not cone).

Just saying. And if your not looking for some others input, then why did you ask?

EDIT- underpower a level 6, then put same power on level 4.

Ill bet the level 4 will out perform.

You have to look at your overall goal to determine what sub is best for you.

Are you looking for max SPL (loud on a meter), low end frequency response, loud to the ear playing music, are you limited on space, how much power do you have, etc. There are too many variable to just say a Mayhem is louder than a Team just because you don't have 5000 watts of power..

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Yup.

and if you had a 3.5k amp. What driver would you run?

Exactly......
