So this may seem like a stupid question but, i bought a stereo cabinet and i would like to put at least one maybe two rgb led strips on the underside of each shelf, so my question is if i buy one of the kits off amazon, and only use say roughly 5-6 feet, if i do one strip in each shelf, will i run into issues with it being overpowered with the stock power adapter or will it be okay?

The LEDs are in parallel, you can't overpower them.

You cut off the length you need and connect it. Simple.

If you use a long length then you just have to make sure the controller can handle that amount of power.

You could run even a single LED off the controller I'd bet. You just don't want to draw more current than the supply can put out, which I'm sure would take a shitload of LEDs
