philrab
You can also gently, but firmly, push the woofer cone down by hand, if you hear scratching towards the bottom, sub is blown. Yep, did that first. She's silent through it's range of motion. That's what's throwing me off, in the past when I popped a subwoofer (dumb kid clipping the shit out of two subwoofers, playing them WAY below tuning in too small ported boxes. Like I said, I was an idiot kid) it was pretty catastrophic. Sounded like a box of rocks when I pushed on the cone, but not this time. This morning, didn't hear a peep, so I'm going with the theory that something in the hatch is rattling. Thanks for the direction guys. 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount. philrab
You should play the songs that it does it with and go back to the trunk and listen to where it is coming from If only it were that simple.... I played the same playlist I heard this noise at this morning, lots of volume (not quite eardrum bleeding, not wanting to push it till I get my four channel amp in and everything nailed down solid) and didn't hear any noise. It's so intermittent and random, that's why it's been screwing with me. 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount. timc31610
Could also be at the outer end of excursion. If you are just pushing in that is only half of the subs motion.
