Just imagine how fast you could go over your data cap.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

I work around and control 10Gb/s and 40Gb/s connections every day on some damn powerful chassis (chassi? Chassis'? Chasssiisissis? What's the plural here lol). Pretty neat stuff, and no doubt those agencies require it. But it's hard to imagine why a home would need that much speed at this point. Shit, most people don't need even more than 100Mb/s to their house.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.

This is pretty cool. I like the name Shadow Internet. Makes it sound a little sinister to me. I wish I would of had this back in the Napster days lol. I agree with gckless, Most people do not need such amazing speed, although I would love to have it available when needed.

Yeah I totally get how NOW speeds this fast are not needed if you aren't working on something like the human genome project, but think about how much more our home use stuff could expand with this kind of headroom. Think of like video games, if you accidentally deleted BF4 and all the map packs you probably wouldn't want to go through the trouble of downloading the 40GB of files again, expecially on my 1-2 Mb connection.

With this kind of speeds games or streaming content would not have to suffer. And talking about streaming think of the game streaming capabilities, it is exciting for me with my crap Internet to stream a game like Arma from my right to a crapy lapy tapy and work enough to be playable.
