JellyMush
I am very new to car audio and I want to buy some subwoofers for my car when I get one ( which will be very soon ). I don't want anything to crazy and be able to still use my trunk and back seat. I will Proably get a sedan or maybe a coupe. I did a tiny bit of looking and I'm interested in buying some sundown subwoofers. I don't want to spend more than 400$ for the woofer or woofers and amp. All suggestions welcome! Thanks! MurdocGTP
if 400.00 was my target for an amp and sub(s) and I wanted Sundown, I would have a look at the E series subs and those new (soon to be released) SAE amps. You could probably get a couple E8's or E10's (or even a single SD-2) and a SAE 600D and be under $400. Not saying this is the only option but if i had limited funds I would look at this combo... Krakin
Make sure you keep count of the price for wires, wood, and possibly a new radio if your current radio doesn't allow for RCA out. You could also get a high-low converter, but it won't be as good. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Ahmed Johnson
WIth 400 dollars you should look towards buying used. I don't know for sure what your goals are, but maybe a set of 8's or tens or one 12 would be a good start for you. Me, I like soundqubed. They're not expensive and they're nice. I budgeted for $1200 for my system build and ended up at 2K by the time I had all the extra's that I didn't account for.
