cole00c7r
So last winter when it got cold I would go to start my car in the mornings, or after it had been sitting for a while, and it would start up and wouldn't idle very well. The RPM's would drop very low and then I would have to feather the throttle to keep it running. I hooked my scanner up to it and I was getting P0174 and P0171. I spent some time checking for leeks after the MAF sensor and couldn't find any. I checked for cracks in the intake and all of that. I cleaned off the MAF sensor and that didnt work either. After looking around for quite some time I noticed that there was a tiny clean spot by a couple of ports by the intake manifold, I took some brake cleaner and sprayed it around it to check and see if it was leaking( and if it was it would change idle)......Nope, didnt do a thing to the idle.....well come to find out, it was because the engine was already warm. The intake manifold gaskets were leaking when they were cold, but once the engine was warm they would seal up. So then I changed them out. After I changed em it ran great! Smoother idle and just runs better. Let me know if some of my terminology is wrong, hopefully it doesnt sound too funky. Here is the dirty LQ9 Ill clean her up though, get her wet and cleaned up, once its sunny over here. Here is after I pulled the intake manifold off. It was an easy job, it just took a while. there is a coolant line running threw the throttle body and that was a bitch to get off, but other then that everything came off and went on easily. Here is the intake manifold with the throttle body I also got the top of the block cleaned up a little! After that I didnt get very many pictures lol......always the same thing (phone die's) but then put everything back on.......... except my stock alt MIDS-HIGHS 8-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 6.5's for now.... 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 8's 4-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 1'' Neodymium tweeters 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 10's AMPLIFIERS 4-Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCP 2-Rockford Fosgate T1000-4ad 1-Rockford Fosgate T800-4ad PROCESSING 1-Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.3 SUBWOOFERS 2-Rockford Fosgate T3S2 19's NEODYMIUM

cole00c7r
So I decided to go with a Singer alt! I researched the" three main brands" for a while (DC, SINGER, MECHMAN) and I know that they all make quality products but I really liked Mr. Singers alts! I got a super fast reply after I sent him an inquiry for an alt. He answered all of my questions really well and informed me of a bunch of things! He has great customer service, top notch! His warranty is also amazing! And lets not forget his superb alts he builds! I went with his 370 AMP 6-Phase Hairpin, Large case alt and it is a beast! It took a while to finally get it (IT WAS HOLIDAY SEASON.....EVERYBODY IS BUSY) , but it was sure worth the wait! sense I was at work, UPS tried to drop off my package.....but signature was required so I went to UPS and picked it up there! I got excited and started taking pictures!!! That Singer Box though! He sent it with some stickers and dog tags and also a volt meter!!! pretty awesome! I just couldn't get enough of it haha, right when I got it out of the box I started taking pictures.....I just dont want to post too many haha.....If you want some more views tell me! I put it on right away and I was charging at 15.4 volts!!!!!! And it also was throwing up a charging light on my dash!!! So then I messaged Mr. Singer and he replied what seemed instantly lol. He explained that some cars need a sense and some dont....My car just needed one, no big deal! No problem! Mr. Singer sent me an adapter that plugged right into the factory harness and my voltage went down to 14.4-14.6!!!! I am very pleased with his alts and customer service! EPIC! Here is the adapter along side my DD-1 and 370 of course! Here it is compared to the stock alt lol And finally on my Caddy! I have to change my intake so the alt can actually be visible but that will be later!!!!
