I love the SA line of woofers, but I have to agree with Focus, The Obsidians do have a better sound quality.

The SD line is optimized for output in sealed enclosures

The SA line is optimized for output in ported

The SD line is what you want if you want to run sealed, ported, the SA line is the lowest I'd go as far as single sub "sql"

SD for sealed, SA for ported, gotcha. What would tip your hat between those two options in my application? Space isn't the issue, I can build the enclosure damned near as big as I need to go.

Well, since that's the second vote for Obsidians, I've opened the thread up to all manufacturers, and I'll look into them.

Same thing applies, I don't want to get into a mudslinging match about one brand over another, just looking for informed opinions and some direction. Wish there was someone near me running Obsidians so I could hear them, though I know better than most the enclosure/electrical/amp/setup makes or breaks any woofer.

I would do a TC Sounds sub, maybe a Dayton HO, maybe a Tantric LD. Any of those in a T-line and you'll be golden.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
