Got my box design and some neat paint pictures...will it work?

The clearance of the extension to the wall is fine (2 1/8" or less would be bad), the braces both glued and screwed, and Yes I realize the depth and width are "swapped" as far as the way are labeled but still the box is to be placed as in the picture I left you before just assemble as the sketch shows and place as you see in the picture below, you should have no problems:

And to address your other questions, the dowels wont affect your sound but by avoiding flex they will help with stiffness which definitely will improve output, lastly the difference between 2 1/4" and 2 1/8" is minimal, the area ratio is within accepted tolerances and no I wouldn't expect port noise, still area ratio is non ideal and if you can find more depth somehow the box can be easily reworked.

What are the downsides to having "less then ideal port ratios"?

Only solutions I can think of are to:

1) Move the box to the other side with the seat up but then the floor is uneven and the floor mounting brackets are still in the way.

2) Remove the seat, not sure if this is ideal or how hard it is to do (as in the pic below i can't remove that second bracket as it braces the other bench seat)

edit: here's a picture of where the box will be going, you can see the brackets (Green arrows) I'm talking about. IGNORE THE MEASUREMENTS AND WRITING ITS INCORRECT!

High area ratio can shift tuning and decrease efficiency as compared with a port with same area (same everything) and lower ratio.

If you are seriously geared to top performance I would recommend to build a cardboard dummy box to test fit, as you can see in the pic above the guy made a better than expected area and area ratio by doing the port the way he did, he made it that way possibly to avoid obstacles below and gaining depth, also you can see that the front seat is slightly compressed by the box, he forced his way into fitting the box the size he needed. So there's always ways for improvement if you have the drive and the time. Those efforts usually don't return massive gains in performance but for some, specially competitors even small gains can be very important.

Alright I'll take some more measurements tomorrow for the space in between the brackets. I'll post here tomorrow morning sometime with more precise measurements. I hope you don't mind helping me!

I really appreciate you helping me man, I could of never gotten this good of a box to this state so fast.

Oh one more thing my current depth measurement is taken with the front seat all the way back, could always move it forward once click to get that extra depth. Like I said tomorrow I'll head out to the truck and I'll play around with the seat and try to get as much depth as I can out of it and reply back here and we'll see where we can go from there.

Spent the morning grunting getting that back seat out, but it's out!

Here are the final measurements of the space I have to work with, keep in mind the depth is the distance between the front seat and the back, width is the distance between the other seat and the back door and height is well height.

Height: 26"

Width: 17"

Depth: 18"

Hopefully it'll work a little better with regards to port ratio and bracing. Still aiming for 2.25 - 2.5 cubes net @ 31hz - 32hz with around 14-16 sq inches of port per cubic foot (as recommended by sundown rep)

If you don't mind going 2.5 net and with 18" depth, things get much simpler and a 6.2:1 port area ratio is achieved which is definitely better, port area is increased to nearly 39 square inches, so not that bad.

Excellent once again man! Looks perfect thanks for all the help, I'm pretty sure 2.5 cubic feet will be fine on 2000w. Their website says 2.25-2.75 cubic feet so I'm in the middle.

edit: when building the box any tips you can give?

First and foremost straight cuts, this makes the box much stronger and avoid leaks, use high quality wood glue like Titebond II over any other glue if possible, use MDF/Drywall screws (about 4-5" apart from each other) and predrill. Round all inner end of the port as shown in the figure, best is using a router, if you don't have access to one, use any other method like sanding, just dont leave any sharp edges untreated, just some basic tips, I'm sure there will be some more complete infos around if you want to look into them.
