4bannger Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 i was wondering where the best place is to hook up a volt meter. ive seen poeple do it in all kinds of areas, to the amp, to the alternator to the front battery, and to the rear battery. Where would be the best place to have it run to.
OrionStang Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 Depends on what you want to monitor. But generally, you want to monitor the positive at the amp. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
alaskanzx5 Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 Imo, monitor where voltage would see the most drop. It does depend on application though. for example I'll be running an external/adjustable regulator for my alt so I'll have one wired to my alt to watch voltage output from it and another on my rear batteries to watch voltage drop at the rear. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

I was almost thinking that the amp was stealing power from the volt meter.
