SlamminBeats Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 1200 gets you no where. A lot of cone, big box, power. You're looking at $6-800 in electrical alone. It's also been recommended to install a fan in the window to do hair tricks. thats always been my recommendation!

slowfkncar Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 Wall it with 4 Rockford p1 15's,a 2k RMS amp and a battery bank. Not gonna do crazy hair tricks, hell it might not even do hair tricks. But with your budget a wall is the best bet. My two sub amps alone cost more then 1200 and I still can't do a MEADE style hair trick.
mikebik Posted July 25, 2014 Author Report Posted July 25, 2014 Those subs are 250rms each would I not want about 6 of them? For the 2000rms? Or could i do 1 with just 4000 rms at at about .5 ohms? You know what I mean?
mikebik Posted July 25, 2014 Author Report Posted July 25, 2014 Also the air comes from the port so if I could build a box that is big (length of my trunk is I think 32 sqft) and make a big port would I still need to wall it?
mrd6 Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 Honestly man, you just are not going to get the results you want from that budget. I have damn near your entire $1200 budget just in build materials for my wall. Wood, glue, glass, resin, screws, sandpaper, paint...it adds up if you are building things right. Have you factored that in yet? Not trying to discourage you at all. I started my audio journey a few years ago with the exact same goals. I'm just now getting to where I want to be. Just trying to help with some expectation management...good luck! My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
