Emmet Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 I'd say consider a new alt once it gets below 11.5. At 12.5 you're barely touching the batteries reserve power which is what they are intended to do. I would never recommend running an amp below 12V, if his shit catches fire it will be your fault. Unless you're a certain ninja with no fucks left to give. i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah.. You want this to happen to you? Give decent handshakes people. I was gifted with an innate ability to distribute wholesale ass beatings in a timely and orderly fashion.

I mean I run my nendo amp to 11.3V before I back off the gain, but I would never tell some1 else to do that there's a reason these amps low voltage protect circuit kicks in below 9v I believe. They are meant to handle low voltage, I don't see where this craze about MUST STAY ABOVE 12v came from. Sure keeping voltage up is good but I have NEVER seen a korean based board blow directly due to low voltage. It's always something else that was the direct cause, or multiple things combined like being wired below 1ohm like .5, .35, or even .25 AND on top of that playing down into the high 11's or even 10's and then poof magic smoke. bighossf150 Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 I dropped my bc3500s to 10.0v at .25 per amp, on the third burp 1 protected but came right back out of protect, they're tanks. Used to have a loud truck 2009 Corvette Z06, H/C/I, 150 shot, g force tune, 730rwhp/690rwtq 2013 F-150 limited, MPT Tune, leveled on 35"s

I can name multiple 57+ builds running korean based amps that demo'd in the low 11's even high 10v range all day and never had issues.
