Simple because I can. I want a system so loud you don't want to be in the car. Mid and highs will continue to improve as the subs improve

In for the abuse.

to answer OP original question. If your gains are set correctly and you are still clipping/distorting it is more than likely the music itself.

if i had to guess your playing downloaded, boosted, low bit rate junk music-

Exactly!! Download audacity and find a tutorial to get rid of clipping in all of the songs you listen to. Problem solved!

you cant get rid of clipping in audacity. you can lower the "amplification" but if you zoom in, the clipping is still there.
