madnking Posted August 11, 2014 Author Report Posted August 11, 2014 I used Torres to build the box 78 sq in was within the recommended port area range
CleanSierra Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 How did Torres know how much port area YOUR subs needed? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
FCS530 Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 So your showing 12.5 square inches per cube. Towards the bottom end of the "12-16" rule of thumb. No problem. Is it absolutely perfect? No, there is only one perfect number. If you were able to calculate every single factor for you application you could theoretically find perfect. Will it sound good? Odds are it will sound great! fecupe2001 Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 that´s one small ass port for those badass subs if you ask me, if you were looking for that port area, i would gone with 3 6" aeros Anyways, i can´t remember the last time i used anything smaller than 90 SQ of slot port for a pair of 15s , i would have gone with at least that, 78 sq? no way in hell I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. madnking Posted August 11, 2014 Author Report Posted August 11, 2014 When u enter your dimensions of you box it gives you a effective range for port area. Thanks for your inputs much appreciated. I did run it sounds good just didnt meter close to where I thought it would on a ct7k decent elec wired to .5 ohms 148.0. Would a larger port help?

Would a larger port help? it should, i use about 70 SQ of port for a pair of nice 12s on music and even close to 100 SQ of port for 2 strong subs for spl and close to 80 sq for music, of course, it´s more complex than that but it gives you an idea! will77530 Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 did you clamp power, that could actually be a decent score depending on the actual amount of power the amp is making
