Boon
Why is this in the videos section :S To answer your question, set the multimeter to AC Voltage then put it across the outputs of your amp. Play a 50hz tone (for sub amps...) and write down the voltage. Then put the multimetre on Resistance, play the tone and write down what you get. Voltage squared divided by resistance = power, I'm pretty sure. So 50w @ 4 ohm = x^2 /4 so voltage = square root of 200, or 14.14 Likewise 10v @ 1 ohm = 100w 10.x volts fo' life! Torres
click the link in my sig. the RMS chart. goes from 100 watts to 5000, showing you what your meter should be reading on the outputs of the amp at the given ohms. might find it helpful
tacomabanga1986
do you leave subs hooked up when doin this test or disconect em but if u do how do u get the ohm load for the power output? lol its wierd but i wanna try it here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
Torres
unhook the subs. put the test tone in (50-60 hz) on my chart, you just match up the power you want to the given ohm load. 200 watts at 2 ohms would be 20 volts. that's what you'd want the amp to put out if you were using a 2 ohm configuration

Although I find it hard to believe that amp makes 2500wrms @ 2 ohms. See if you can get access to an oscilloscope 10.x volts fo' life!
EricM9104
Although I find it hard to believe that amp makes 2500wrms @ 2 ohms. Why do you say that? I've heard of some ZX2500.1's with a birthsheet of 2,500+w RMS @ 2 ohms. 2015 Honda Civic LX 4dr | 24k miles Stock H/U and mids/highs Power Acoustik GW3-12" D2 Sub HiFonics BXX1200.1D @ 1ohm Random 2.5^3' dual ported box NVX LOC Stinger wiring throughout 1977 Chevy SWB Cammed 350 Dual exhaust Cheap Wish stereo
