islandpride684 Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 If he has the one with premium sound in it, then a regular LOC will not work, check out metraonline.com, they have interfaces that will help retain the factory stuff....check out audiocontrol also, their LCi series of LOC's.... Well the LOC works perfect going to the full range amp. For the sub amp, could he just not use an LOC and use the speaker level input on the sub amp?
islandpride684 Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 Yeah you can go that route if you don't want to use rcas, where are you guys tapping into for y'all inputs... _paralyzed_ Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 You've already identified the problem. If after a few minutes there is 0 AC voltage coming out of the LOC, then the problem is with the LOC, not the amp. Of course the amp won't amplify 0 volts. Is there a second full range output you could run to the amp, and just use the amp's internal crossovers? Alternatively, you could use a y-adapter off of the used full range output, run that to the amp, and again use the amp's internal crossover. Anyhoo, it sounds to me like the LOC stops having output after a few minutes and the LOC is the problem. Maybe I read it wrong...
Guest Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 what kind of car is it? your signals might be crossed so a regular loc will not work, you need to sum the output signals.... 2014 focus hatchback ...st or se....whatever the sport model is haha sport/turbo model is the ST. how could you not know that? lol

He tried using the speaker level inputs and still happened. You've already identified the problem. That was our thought as well, but the problem still happened with two different model LOCs. Splitting the full range channel would be another thing to try since that seems to work. Guess we'll see... what kind of car is it? your signals might be crossed so a regular loc will not work, you need to sum the output signals.... 2014 focus hatchback ...st or se....whatever the sport model is haha sport/turbo model is the ST. how could you not know that? lol I only saw the car for two days on a weekend and they look really similar. His actually might be the se hatchback. I don't remember, but it doesn't matter too much regarding this problem lol
Ahmed Johnson Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Does that LOC have a ground wire and do you have it grounded? When I had a cheap piece of shit LOC the ground on it caused me problems when it was hooked up.
csshakka Posted August 20, 2014 Author Report Posted August 20, 2014 So using the speaker level inputs struck out - the problem still happened. However, he decided to rip everything out, power/ground wires, amp, rca's, speaker wires, etc. Then proceed to reinstall. The RCA wires and remote wire was replaced, but everything else was just remounted as it was before. Guess what, everything works now. So something with the RCAs or remote wire...who knows
SIDE SHOW Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 Glad you got it sorted.......my guess is it was the ground wire for the amp
