Aaron Tuck TBA Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 I just bought a 2014 Tacoma. I have a box I built for behind the seats from my 07 tacoma I traded off. I'd like it in this truck. I like the factory deck but plan to upgrade everything else over time. What processing units do you all recommend? I'm looking at the audio control LC7i. Are they worth their money? 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js

islandpride684 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Audiocontrol is a good company...what is your budget? They have a lot of companies out there that make good quality LOCs.... Aaron Tuck TBA Posted August 21, 2014 Author Report Posted August 21, 2014 My budget is like most. If it more than I have I'll save to buy. As long as it's worth it and gets good reviews and performs well. 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js
islandpride684 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 You can't go wrong with the LCi7, I would get it... Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
Aaron Tuck TBA Posted August 21, 2014 Author Report Posted August 21, 2014 Do you have experience with them? 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js
bigmizzle99 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 I have a JL Audio Cleansweep. It does OEM integration hi and lo level plus Re EQ. It worked the first time out of the gate and is quiet, no noise. It was between the JL and the Audio Control. I liked the auto EQ of the JL, but also like the ability of the AC to restore rolled bass at higher volumes. Camaro SS Build Altima build 2.0 Altima build 1.0
islandpride684 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Do you have experience with them? I do, but if you are planning to upgrade everything later on, why not just invest it towards a headunit, that way you can bypass having to get one...unless your truck comes with a factory upgraded sound system and everything is synced to your radio, then that would be a diff topic...but the LCi7 is designed to take your factory signals and converts them into high quality, aftermarket low-noise, pre-amp level signals. What are you planning to do? Just adding bass? Or a full system? Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
Aaron Tuck TBA Posted August 22, 2014 Author Report Posted August 22, 2014 My truck has a really nice factory head unit. It's the Entune upgrade. I plan on eventually putting an amp on the factory midst and high as well as adding my sub stage I already have. Just looking for better quality than your run of the mill cheap LOC. 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js
islandpride684 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 The LCi7 is a good LOC, but it does not have EQ capabilities. You will need to purchase a separate eq, crossover, or a processor for you to be able to do that, unless your head unit has one, but I doubt it has more than bass, treble, etc... Unless you get the DQ61...you just gotta do some research and read on it and find out which one will best fit your needs..... If you want to improve the overall sq I would go with a processor....JL, RF, Audison, Audiocontrol, Precision Power, Soundstream....
