pedrohecktheuer Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Hi guys, first of all, I'm sorry about my english, I'm from brazil. I'm having a serious problem with my air ports, I bought 2 pioneer ts-w260d4 and built the box for them. The box has 2,68 ft3 for the two subs. I'm using 2 air ports each one is 3“, cause I don't have space to use bigger ones. I first used the vents with 7,48" length. But I had a horrible air blowing noise. So I tried with 5,91" length each port, and the air blowing noise still. Now I tested with 4,33"length, and this crap doesn't go away. I don't now what to do anymore, I don't now how to calculate this to make this noise stop, so I'm asking if anyone can help me. I will post some pictures of the box and the amplifier. Thank you. Pedro
pedrohecktheuer Posted August 23, 2014 Author Report Posted August 23, 2014 here goes some pictures, the air ports is pretty ugly cause i had to pull them out This is what i will put on my car, the amp is pretty good for this subs, the battery i will connect with the car, using a wire that i dont know the awg size hehehe, here in brazil we use another mesure.
hispls Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 If you have port noise it means your ports are not big enough. You must use more port area.

Raptorman Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Get some port flares on those bitches. And make sure the port walls inside the tubes is completely smooth. I can see the ridges in it from the picture. And the ends of the ports are all hacked and shit.No wonder you get port huffing. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. biscuitownz Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Yeah, if they aren't sealed off I would do that first. If you really want to keep the port size you can try flaring the ports to reduce the noise.
Miguels Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 i think they are flared, he just damaged them trying to pull them out my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
pedrohecktheuer Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 It was flared, but just one side of it, and I damaged when I was pulling ti out. I dont know if I put one more port or I increase the length of each port
