Weigel21 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Ah, so it's not just turn-on/off pop as I had thought it may have been. Might try unhooking the remote wire and using a small wire to jump from the power to the remote on the amplifier to hot wire it. If it still does the popping, then it shouldn't have been the remote wire. You could then unwire the subs from the amp and try wiring something else to it, a larger speaker or other subwoofer and leave the gain low with the volume low just to see if the popping continues.
Sid420 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 I put another sub to it and still doing the popping.
Sid420 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 I checked my power and ground and even changed my ground to a better one and still popping.
Weigel21 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Try using a jumper wire from the power to the remote terminal of the amplifier instead of the remote ran from the HU. Let us know if it continues to do the popping. Please bare in mind that the jumping of the wire from the power to the remote is only for this brief testing and NOT something that should be done long term. also, where is your ground connected in the car? Was the surface free of paint and any residue before attaching the ground?

Sid420 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 Tbh I really don't want to hot wire my amp. Not that I don't trust you. I don't trust myself with that task. It is just so upsetting because I have never seen anything like this. And don't know what to do. :'(
gally Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 maybe a positive wire that is touching the negative, 2010 Chevrolet Cruze Radio --- pioneer mvh-200vbt Front/back --- alpine type s 6.5" Sub Control --- Pac LC1 Sub Amp --- GZPA 1.4K Sub --- GZNW 15XSPL D1 Battery - GZBP 12.2500X

Sid420 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 None of the wires are touching and all the fuses are intact.
biscuitownz Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Does it only do it when you first start the car? If so, it's probably the battery. My amp would make a popping noise when the voltage dropped low enough (around 10v), this was with nothing playing as well.
