Cameronmyers74 Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 The sub I will be using is a soundqubed HDS315. And I will be powering it with 750 watts wired to 2 ohms. Will eventually see about 900-1000 watts. Also it will be in a mazda 3. So anything you guys think I should change let me know. Thanks:D
hispls Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 So you're going to put a 15" woofer into 1.75 cubes, then tune to 34hz with 25" port area? Why not check out the SQ website and use recommended specs for that woofer.
RainStryke Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 I have a HDS312 in a 2.25 cubic feet box tuned to 34Hz and it sounds great. A 15 is going to need about 4 cubic feet atleast... their website recommends a 5 cubic feet design.
jarrius Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 box is way to small. my hdc 3 12 is in a 2.5 cube box. SQ likes big boxes you will want to run AT LEAST 3cubes but 4 would bbe better i thinkuse this to helphttp://www.soundqubed.com/Box-Sizes-and-Tuning-_ep_68.html Edit: pluse you will need atleast 17in in higth if you plan to mount the woofer facing foward or too the rear. IMO i would do 18in tall 35in wide and 18 with port about 16.5in tall X 3in wide by 15in long. this should give you about 50in2 of port and tuning close to 37 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole

zZZzzzSnooze Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 You should add 3 to "# of Common Port Walls"
Cameronmyers74 Posted August 30, 2014 Author Report Posted August 30, 2014 ah yeah thanks forgot about that lol
Joe X Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 If anything, the listed sub displacement will be in the ballpark.. if you want a small box get some nice 12".
