inm
Could a run an m3 on a 1.2k? If I wire a dual 2ohm @ 1ohm, it would be seeing 1200w. The m3 has an RMS rating of 600w and a peak of 1200w. Is it bad to run at peak? If I get a dual 4ohm, I can wire it at 2ohm, which would be about 700w. Is 100w over RMS safe? WCA Rusty
RMS power rating is a rating of what a sub can take for long periods of time. Run the amp at 2 ohms Quote DC AUDIO Phone Number 1(855)SPL-DBZZ Built by Competitors, for Competitors.
Raptorman
at 1 ohm, you're never going to see full power, after impedance rise. Hell, you'll probably rarely see 600 watts while wired at 1 ohm on a 1.2k amp. Maybe I'm missing something about impedance. Maybe I'm missing something about impedance. When wired to 1 ohm your impedance will most certainly be anywhere between 2-8 ohms. Highly general statement, but it still applies. Different for every application, but bottom line is it is very tough to only rise to 2 ohm while wired at 1 ohm.
