Orfeous
Hi! My woofer and amplifier can take maximum 8AWG speaker wire. I dont know how thick wires i should use.Woofer is RF T2D212 1ohm 1200W RMSSo woofer will be wired internally in parralell over the voice coils. And then wire to the speaker terminal on my box. From speaker terminal on box toamplifier. Quite short lengths here. Placing amp on the back of the box where terminal is. I cant find any bigger speaker wires than ~11AWG (~4mm2) on swedish car audio sites. is that enough or should i order something else?
Broke_Audio_Addict
Just use some 8 Gauge power wire if you can't find 8 Gauge speaker wire. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Orfeous
I think there will be problems fitting 8AWG to the speaker terminal on the box. Maybe i can make it work when i solder it. I think the "pins" are quite small on the terminal. Isnt 11 AWG enough? for those short lengths? Broke_Audio_Addict
12 or 10 would work just fine but if you really want the 8 I was just giving you another option. Orfeous
order 8 gauge.... please, explain why in this case? any ideas how to fit it to my speaker termina at the box? and from that to amp? Looks like this. I just found a bananaplug that takes 8AWG http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_64036_Belva-BNAPLG1.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_60635_Stinger-SPT5503.html
Orfeous
I just realized that i cant use 8AWG because woofer terminals wont take two 8AWG cables on one + and - terminals. from one voice coil + to the other voice coil +and one voice coil - to other voice coil -and then from one + to box terminal and one from - to box terminal. It wont fit. Any other solutions? or just accept that i should use 11AWG Woofer specifications tells me this: Speaker Connector Dual 8 AWG slot load
