Did I blow my amp?

Well yesterday I was messing with my gains trying to get them right by ear and herd no distortion but after a few minutes my sub went full excursion and then back to normal and now there's no bass, I checked my subwoofer it's not blown it wasn't not at all no scraping of broken voice cool leads fine, then i chedked my amp and power is no not protect then I checked the amp fuses it has 2 40 amps both fine wires are good and the amp also was not warm at all what could it be?

Ear-o-meter ftw. Check your voice coils with a multi meter if they check out OK swap the amp for something else and see if that solves the problem. Fuses can actually be bad without appearing to be bad. I'd suggest buying a dd-1 or borrowing one from someone to set your gains Don't use your ears to do that anymore.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I tested the imp on the sub and it jumps around a lot

If you're making any noises at all its going to move around just try and not touch the probes or make noises till it settles.

Well now when I try to read the imp it shows nothing

Both amp and sub are working i must of changed it from low pass to full range on my amp because after i put it back they both work

Like Broke_Audio_Addict said get a DD-1 or and Oscope and set the gains correctly it will save you the headaches in the long run and will allow you to get more clean power out of your system without toasting everything.

As for the weird readings on the subs like Broke_Audio_Addict said literally any noise at all will cause the subs impedance to fluctuate.
