Everything is in, and works nice.

I did not take pics of the tweeters : they are in the stock locations on the dash, firing up through the windshield. My tweeters are so loud, I had to turn them down a little bit on the passive filters. I'd love to find the original covers for those filters...

I need to finish the big 3, install a small box for my rear battery, and then buy some goods from sounddeadenershowdown.com or from secondskinaudio.com : I want CLD tiles and MLV, at least.

It's tax season in my country, so money is tight. I'll have to wait a few weeks before I order anything.

I'm thinking about buying a mini-dsp to fine tune my mids & highs, as I don't want to spend an arm to get a JBL ms-8 or an Audison bit-one !

Thanks.

Now it's playing and I'm happy with it.

It was easy to work on this car.

I had to take the battery out to find a good way for my power wire (from the front batt to the rear). No problem with electrical when taking out the battery. Everything is fine after I put it back there. I only had to play with the power windows to make them come up and down with just a touch. Nothing special.

The head unit was so easy to swap : I ordered a dash kit (about $ 50-60) and found the official Mazda instructions using Google.

A kid could change that head unit !

I bought a Pioneer adaptor to keep my steering wheel control : it works very well.

The only thing I miss, is the picture showing the car when using the parking detector. It's not a video, just a kind of drawing showing where the detector feels an obstacle. I still have the different bips for the front and the rear. so it's not a big problem.

Nice may eventually do a system in mine but not sure cause the Bose system actually sounds pretty good great midbass and vocals but needs more bass.

I did not want the Bose sound system, because I already had speakers and amplifiers from my previous car.

The stock audio system was sounding good, for stock, at iddle, but on the road with opened windows it was too weak for my personnal taste.

  • 1 year later...

I blew the passenger side Focal mid.

Ordered a pair of SEAS Prestige ER 18. I love them !

Next to the 6.5" Focal mid. The SEAS is a 7" speaker. :

New wood rings, I had to turn them because the 7" mid would not fit in. So they sit closer to the door skin. It's much better like that.
