Different port designs....are they the same tune

Recommended Posts

Looking at your Torres here's the resulting cutsheet based on the figure I left you in my last post:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34.5 Hz
Vb = 4.57 ft^3

External Height = 16.5 in
External Width = 48 in
External Depth = 17.25 in

Port Width = 4 3/4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.
* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 48 x 16 1/2

Left & Right Sides = 15 x 15

Top & Bottom = 48 x 15

Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts:

2 x Front to Back = 12 5/8 x 15
2 x Extension = 7 9/16 x 15

This is just a translation of your Torres, no notion on what you are doing, no subs, amp, etc specified in your OP so can't tell you at all if your design is good or not.

Really where you have them now Is good firing Into the port can cause issues and since this is your first build best to Eliminate as many possible issues as you can before you build.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Thanks....I keep changing box design lol, trying to get an optimal layout.....4.25-4.75ft^2 and about 35-36hz, with 70-80in^2 of port so that i can put wood in the port later on to shrink port to be able to reach 30hz and stay in 55-60in^2 port, at the same time keep the H X D a square....never thought is would take this much time
