Greasemonkey2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 I am trying come up with a box/woofer combination that will work good for my car. I curremtly have a CT1400.1 that i plan on using. One thing i am wondering if you think that the HDS315 will tsake that much power? I have figured i have 4.2 cubic feet to work with. I have entered a box design into WinISD with tuning to 31Hz and port diameter of 6". I am not exactually sure what i am loking for in the graph and i was wondering if the graph looks good or what i could do to improve it. All comments and help is appreciated.

I want a system that is going to produce good tight bass that will bang pretty good when cranked up. Like. I said earlier I have around 4 cubes to work with and don't want to spend much more than 300 on a woofer/woofers but the less I spend the better.

Box size is a little small but you will be okay. If I were you, I would be looking at the 12s not the 15s. The box size is more suitable for them.

I have to respectfully disagree. 4 cubes is PLENTY for that sub. In my build I have a HDC415 and I'm giving it 3.75 cubes net and it sounds fantastic. I just did a build for a buddy of mine with 2 HDS315's and the box was 7.04 cubes net so each sub is getting 3.5 and it also sounds great. You're going to want to give roughly 50 square inches of port for one of those subs.
