loudmini96 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Hey guys, just got an RE audio xxx 12 dual 2 ohm 2012 model. I'm gonna be powering it on a dd m4a. Gonna be going in a extended cab mini truck and was thinking to do an enclosure with sub up port facing driver side and wanted to tune around 28 to 30 hz. I looked up the recommended specs that re says and I know there's no way a sub that big can sound good with only 2.2 cubes. I was thinking about going up to 3.5 cubes and not sure how much port area they like. Thanks for the help

RainStryke Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Even at 4 OHM's that sub is going to get demolished by that amplifier. Are you going to be doing burps with it or something? Need more information on what you are trying to achieve.
loudmini96 Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 I wanna use it just for a daily while i get something bigger. I'm gonna set gains correctly to not mess the sub up with a dd1. I'm don't think gains set really low would destroy the sub, would it?

RainStryke Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 In short, you need to get a smaller amplifier for that subwoofer. Something like a M2B. That M4A is an amplifier you would want for 3 or 4 of those RE subs.
