Dual Group 31's Under the Hood?

So I have a 1994 GMC Yukon that I am wanting to build a little audio set up in. The engine bay is the equivalent of any other gas 88-94 GMT 400 style vehicle. I know that you can get the diesel auxiliary battery tray and run two batteries. The trays are made for group 78s I believe, but a group 34 will fit no problem. I was just wondering if anyone had tried to put a pair of group 31s in there? I am open to building new, larger trays. That is no big deal. My worry is that my group 34 is pretty close to the radiator hoses, and the 31 is 2in wider. I know at least a couple people on here run dual batteries in an obs. Off the top of my head I can think of audiofanaticz set up, but I don't remember if he is running groups 31s or 34s.

Before anyone says just stick with what fits and is simple, my reason behind wanting the 31s is because you gain so many more amp hours over the 34s, and I would really like to use as little batteries as possible in this set up before it is over with. I would really like to only go with two underhood batts and two batts in the back.

Any help is appreciated guys. I would really like to figure this out today so that I can order some batts while the deals are a little better than normal.

The D2700 is a decent alternative if you can not fit the 3100. It's 1" shorter in length and half an inch shorter on width. You may be able to lay the 3100 on its side to get it to fit. I've seen that done with success in certain vehicles before

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

On the group 27 I think it might be a little too tall. Not 100% sure though. I found Audiofanaticz log and saw That he is running 3400s, so maybe that will be all that I can get to fit.

I'm running twin 3400s in my '03 and they fit perfectly, but that's a different bodystyle

Okay. I went and took some measurements, and I think I am going to have to go ahead and run some group 34s. I could make 31s fit, but I would have to do some fender well modifications. Guess I will just have to get another rear auxiliary battery.

Thanks guys.
