Courage68 Posted December 22, 2014 Author Report Posted December 22, 2014 i could still do that, just need to put a removable panel/window at the rear so i can slide the sub in backwards. id be willing to give it a try. -edit- just realized it would throw the VAS off due to basket being in the front now , reducing the front vas from .75 to like .58 With 6th order BP boxes it can get a little confusing which chamber is the "front" and which is the "rear". The way I always think of it is the "rear" chamber is the lower tuned one, and is usually the larger, the higher tuned chamber is the "front". As far as which one has the motor of the sub, I don't think it makes any difference as long as you account for the volume it takes up. Also VAS isn't the right term for what you are referring to. VAS is not the volume displacement of the sub, or the box it goes in. VAS is a measurement of the compliance of the sub's suspension. If you want a much better definition than I can give, you can read about it here: http://www.eminence.com/support/understanding-loudspeaker-data/ ah ! thanks i just started learning the more advance side of speakers and enclousures , so i get things mixed up sometimes. lol

Courage68 Posted December 31, 2014 Author Report Posted December 31, 2014 I just started working on it today, the entire last week it was just sitting on the side due to the holidays and family time. tomarrow i should have the front all cut and done . . Plexiglass also came in today, 3/8 thick. . . Should do the trick. But time will tell. after that i just need to take my time with making the plexi sit in a recessed area on the front panel. ill get pictures up tomarrow night with progress.
Courage68 Posted January 3, 2015 Author Report Posted January 3, 2015 i didnt get as much done as i wanted to , but the front plate is on and plexiglass area is done as well Just need to face match the front port holes to the ports, round edge them, and some more sanding and finally put on foam strips to help seal the plexi to the mdf. i ordered clamps that go on to 1/2" black pipe so you can make them as long as you need , but they didnt come in. so i had to impervise a way on clamping the front plate on also drilled out a bunch of holes for the plexi ,, man that was scary. thank god i didnt crack it drillin all them holes.
