Stefan Hayes
I looked at the three parts for the 1250 Amp and I didn't see anything in particular that would do anything specific for the 2/4/5 switch? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, I'm running on E right now. Like I said at the beginning, I am a newbie to this kind of thing. You guys are definitely more experienced with these things which is why I came here. Do you see any part in that manual that is what I'm looking for so I don't need splitters? islandpride684
The head unit has a switchable rear pre-out, switch that to sub-out and run that rca to the 5th channel on amp, use the head unit's front pre-out for the front and rear on the amp, by way of y-splitter...2x (1female and 2male) and you should be good... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45078_NVX-XIV2M.html Connect speakers to ch 1-4 and the sub to ch 5...but make sure you wire it to your desired final ohm load... Stefan Hayes
I am not reading the manuel for you to say yes or no, go read it yourself There isn't much there in terms of information. It's not like I'm asking you to read a book, there are only 3 small pages for the Tarantula 1250 amp in that PDF. I just wanted to make sure I actually read it correctly as I didn't see anything special about the 2/4/5 channel switch like expedition said I might. No need to be snarky, I came here seeking help and have done what I can on my end too.

If I do end up having to use splitters I think I find this idea to be the best, it still gives me a great amount of control over the speakers while having control of the sub as well. Thanks for your input man Just so I understand properly, I'm looking to plug the two 1F2M splitters into the 2/4 channels with the 2 Front RCA's, and the 2 Rear RCA's into the 5th channel, yes? Stefan Hayes
Does it look something like this? http://postimg.org/image/s4u8h5tuf/
rockFord_Expedition
Yes you run your front channel rca's to the amp, use the splitters at the amp to split the signal to channels 1-4 Set the rear output on the HU to SW and run that set of rca's to channel 5. What I THiNK THAT 2/4/5 channel switch is for is to tell the amp which inputs to read from. If connected as stated above you would select 5 channel. I also THINK you can just set the amp on 4 channel mode and run your rca's to channels 1-4, don't change settings on the HU and the amp will split the signal internally. I'm almost positive that is the switches purpose. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Guest
So, at the last minute I realized I made an awful mistake with my girlfriend's christmas audio surprise. I purchased her a new head unit that only has 4 preamp RCA's instead of 6 preamp RCA's (in the picture it looks to be 6 channel, but it's actually just 4 :/ ). Below I have listed the specs of everything in her cars audio build. Need some help quick on what to do! Wire: 4 Ga Power and Ground, 14 Ga Speaker Wire, All Sky High Car Audio brand RCA: Stinger 6-channel RCA Speakers: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5474_Soundstream-SST5.7.html Sub: Digital Designs Redline 400 /OR/ 500 series 15" subwoofer, 150-400w RMS, 1200w peak (http://www.ddaudio.com/products/mobile-audio/redline/500-series) (I can't find a 15" model of this anywhere but the sub is def a 15" and it says it on the back that it's indeed Redline) Amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_79512_Soundstream-TA5.1250.html Head Unit: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rJ2eMuQEvgm/p_158XAV68BT/Sony-XAV-68BT.html Keep in mind, no, this is not supposed to be the greatest audio setup out there. She likes her music but also wants a decent system, I like mine heavy and loud with sound quality and sub pounding. Two different tastes. Is there anyway I can make this work? Really appreciate any help, still a bit of a noob with this stuff. If that link is where you got your radio, Crutchfield is real cool about returns. I accidently bought a headunit without a remote and told them that I had to pay $8 in shipping but I got a credit and a different piece of equipment no problem

So long as this works out in the end I am totally ok with either solution. You guys have a been a great help and I sincerely appreciate it! I'll update the topic when I found out which works and how it went
islandpride684
yeah if you want to run your sub, I would use the method I described earlier, or if you dont want to install your sub, I would use RE's method....there are 3 settings on the amp for ch1/2, 3/4, and 5...ch 5 is used for the sub....
