Stefan Hayes
So, at the last minute I realized I made an awful mistake with my girlfriend's christmas audio surprise. I purchased her a new head unit that only has 4 preamp RCA's instead of 6 preamp RCA's (in the picture it looks to be 6 channel, but it's actually just 4 :/ ). Below I have listed the specs of everything in her cars audio build. Need some help quick on what to do! Wire: 4 Ga Power and Ground, 14 Ga Speaker Wire, All Sky High Car Audio brand RCA: Stinger 6-channel RCA Speakers: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5474_Soundstream-SST5.7.htmlSub: Digital Designs Redline 400 /OR/ 500 series 15" subwoofer, 150-400w RMS, 1200w peak (http://www.ddaudio.com/products/mobile-audio/redline/500-series) (I can't find a 15" model of this anywhere but the sub is def a 15" and it says it on the back that it's indeed Redline) Amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_79512_Soundstream-TA5.1250.htmlHead Unit: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rJ2eMuQEvgm/p_158XAV68BT/Sony-XAV-68BT.htmlKeep in mind, no, this is not supposed to be the greatest audio setup out there. She likes her music but also wants a decent system, I like mine heavy and loud with sound quality and sub pounding. Two different tastes. Is there anyway I can make this work? Really appreciate any help, still a bit of a noob with this stuff.
rockFord_Expedition
Besides the subs, how many speakers are you hooking up to the amp? Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
rockFord_Expedition
OP, it's feasible, you just have to read instruction manuals and in the worst case you may need some RCA Y cable to split the signal. Stefan Hayes
I'm hooking up 4 of those 5.7's, and only running the one 15" DD. My father mentioned I could maybe try an RCA splitter, but I can't seem to find them on Amazon. Trying to get them here quickly with their guaranteed 2-day shipping since it's almost Christmas. SIDE SHOW
one female to two male rca splitter is what your after, two of them, then you'll end up with 3 pairs of rca's going to your amps

rockFord_Expedition
OP, those splitters may not even be necessary. Read the instruction manual for the amp and see what the 2/4/5 channel switch does Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
magillaru
if you can't figure it out with rockford's advice, you could probably get that y adapter from best buy/radio shack......just a thought. Stefan Hayes
Sorry, I'm still a bit new to this. I've hooked up my own amps before but this will be my first full fledged project from start to finish. I just don't want to mess it up, you know? Also, would this work better? (http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-Twisted-Adapter-Female/dp/B006RAT7GA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418880626&sr=8-3&keywords=1+male+to+2+female+rca) I have a 6-channel Stinger RCA cable. Am I wrong with this adapter, or is it what I need? I'll check out the manual for the amp tomorrow, maybe it has a magic switch like you say? That'd be fantastic

Yeah unless you live in BFE, theres probably a dozen local places with a resonable selection. Avoid em if you can there, and read up on the amp.
