Another 360.2 Question.....

Recommended Posts

The video of the [other] white escalade with the 2 T15K amps and 8 18"s posted by Steve over on his youtube videos.

There is a point where it is a tour of the Escalade, and it shows the screen up front running from a carputer, and the RF 360.2 control menu is brought up, where the EQ bands are changed just by running his finger over the touchsceen.

Question is, does the RF 360.2 run on it's own with the touchscreen, or does it require the carputer to interface with the touchscreen in that Escalade???

it needs a computer or you could use a palm handheld or a device with windows mobile

it connects through bluetooth BTW

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

Along those lines, if using an Ipod connected to a regular touchscreen headunit, and a seperate car audio eq or 360.2, should the head units eq and the ipods eq be set flat, and all the adjusting be done at the cars eq or 360.2?

Is there such a thing as to many eq sources, or too much equalization?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm mesmerized by that Escalade!

Thanks Steve, makes sense. Would adding eq from the head unit or Ipod be creating noise of some sort?, and would adding it be more of a problem in high wattage setups like yours vs someone like me running 1K watts to my entire setup?

And an unrelated question, what would be the difference in the Tahoe if you had designed the rear enclosure like the Escalade Wall, but just did 4 18"s vs 8? I guess its more impressive that you are able to get it that loud without a wall, just wondering if the wall design has an SPL advantage if the watts are the same? Is the Escalade capable of more than 160 db?

BTW, I just discovered your site here, after building a sealed box for my 4 12" subs to fit in the confines of my PT's hatch, Had I seen your vids before, I would have wanted to take out the back seat and build a mini-wall with 4 12"s and two slot ports, and some mirrors too!

The stuff you guys build is incredible! I spend a lot of time in the videos and installation pics, and see something amazing everytime I'm here! whats so great is that all kinds of people from all walks of life just love to get a demo, and they all love it! And you are so friendly about the demos, too, well maybe your neighbor from the Civic door speaker vid might not agree

thanks man :)

as for the difference if i had gone wall vs non wall in my Tahoe......im not sure. Ive never had a wall with 4 18's in it so who knows....it all comes down to the design whether it is "number" friendly or not. It would pound no doubt but its hard to say how the numbers themselves would be. Also, to answer your question, i think the Caddy has more in it but it dont matter...i achieved my goal which was to join the 60 club with it and im good with that. I need to concentrate on the mids and highs, there is PLENTY of SPL at 159-160db :D Also, one day when its done i might play with it some for 30 second runs because to me that number means more then a burp. Its like people say "only" a 160.......but if i can hold a 159 160 for the entire run then that 160 becomes 10x more respectable. If you know what it takes to get one this loud then you already have respect for it.....its not even mine and i respect it. At 3db louder then my hoe its technically twice as loud....so that 3db all the sudden aint no joke :D (if youve heard the hoe before that is)

Thanks again Steve,

I am no where near your level, and not even at that of everyone on this site. If I can get my 4 12"s to 130, I will be a happy camper, even if it was 130 for 1 second! I'd be embarrased to post up any pics of mine, though I'm rather proud of how nice it is coming along. Anyway, just wanted to add that I have great respect for anything that rolls through your install bay. I have a basic understanding of db's and know that 150-160 is serius stuff, and that a 3db gain is twice the output. I only get to see anything decent in person at the Heatwave show, and haven't seen any of the national level vehicles in years and would love to see/hear one of your installs someday. I was just curious about the 160 goal, and thought it had to do more with you having a perfect enclosure design and matched port for your particular subs than it did with sheer power and cone surface area. I'll be spending a lot of time here watching your vids!

Keep building 'em, and if I can make a request, post up a vid of the Tahoe playing some Linkin Park music! I know, it's not Jeezy, but I bet it could scare a few people!
