Broke_Audio_Addict Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 If the fuse is to big it's not protecting anything. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Sergeant_Skyrim Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 The idea of having a fuse is to break the connection from point A to point B in case something bad happens. If your amp is supposed to draw a maximum of 300a of current, then yes put a 150a fuse on each wire. Fuses are to protect you if a power wire gets cut, they will pop to essentially break the connection between two points. As for fusing a power wire to the amp, that will protect you in case of a cut wire but will also protect you from the amp trying to draw too much current. If you use too big of a fuse, then you will not be getting this second form of protection and risk burning the amp up. Tl;dr: Don't use too big of fuses because they won't protect your amp Build in progress
