Why Did I Pick Rd Audio

so basicly a friend of mine is a dealer and told me rd audio sonances were good daily subs so i bought 8 of em for 220 a piece and i built the rite box for em and just for a little bump i put 2 in my wifes car i played em low and i smelt voice coil they heated up and blew in 1 day i swaped em out with another set and the heated up and i took em out b4 they blew now it been 2 moths going back and forth with the owner steve who says that out on 440 subs im the opnly person to send 1 back and the coils are burt beond warranty so basicly im screwed and the comps are starting up soon like 2 weeks so my only choice is to buy some cvrs till they get repaired

thats the first time i heard that one, there is no such thing as a "good burned" coil lol... but maybe your over powering them or have them in a bad box causeing them to over extend and blow?....but after replaceing a set a few times i would as well not exchange them again... i can see one or 2 being bad apples but it seems to me like its now user error instead of bad subs...

they were new product i never heard and i wanted them to break in so i can give em a true test just like the dealer told me to do

if any one knows about how to repair or is a dealer i wanna get rid i will sell real cheap like almost half off

I have the same problem also. They were declared manufacteur defects because the glue around the voice coil and spider cracked and one of my voice coils just stopped working also. But mine did the same thing with 500 watts going to each one non clipping power clean power. They got really hot and wuold smell like they are burning after a long time of breaking in and barely even playing them to the point to they would barely even move, to ensure I myself gave them a good breaking in time.

u might just get better things out of the cvr's....ive heard cvr's get loud...and depnding on your amps.....you might just like them more

ki never had a problem with my RD Elite SPLS when i had them.

steve is a pretty good guy but i think he bulshits a little more then i like.

I had 2 12" CVR's around 900 watts each hitting a 151. Ive been trying to go through that route again. Im either going to get them, possibly do 4 12"s and or the SSD's but it will take a while to save that money for that. So im thinking of CVR's again.
