This car has come a long way since the first set of shitty 10"s, then 2 15" kicker CVRs. Its still not done, I.E. It still need the interior of the trunk put in and the subs box still needs a little facelift, but Im happy with the overall sound quality of the build. I'm hoping for 145+ dB but am not sure if im quite there. I'll get metered sooner or later and I'll post up my results. I have another build with a 1990 Civic Hatch on plate for the next semester. I've started a car audio club/ team at Virginia Tech and that will be our demo car for the spring. Thanks guys for the look and I look forward to try and be more active here and other audio forums.

I forgot to post videos here :P but feel free to take a look. The sound quality is poor because I filmed it with a phone camera (LG G3)

How did you fit the box in the trunk?

I had to build it outside of the car screwed together, unscrew it, then build it in the trunk. Was a little messy at first but work out in the end.

As far as Audio goes:

I removed the 2 15s to use in the team competition car. I figure this is a good time for another upgrade. Im looking at running a b-pillar wall with either 3 15s, or 6 12s. Havent decided. If my box design fits correctly, Im looking at ~12 cu ft net tuned at 32 hz with a port area of ~15 sq in/cu ft. I already ordered a 320 amp alternator for this set up. Equipment for the build is still up in the air. I definitely know I want to run crescendo 6.5 mids and those amplified by a crescendo 1100/2. I already have Lanzar optidrive super tweets that I'll amplify on a crescendo amp as well.

After 2 months of planning, designing, redesigning, and research, I believe I am ready to start the new build.

Bass:

For this one, I will be running a b-pillar wall with 6 NVX VCW12s, each running in pairs off of 3 NVX XPLD3K amps. The box comes out to ~11 cubic ft tuned to 32 hz, giving these subs plenty of play space.

Electrical:

I've already picked up a 300 amp Ohio alternator, and plan to run 5 XS Power XP3000 batteries with a D3400 for the starting battery. 2 runs of 1/0 are going to run to the rear bank with custom aluminum buss bars I plan to make. I've planned out how I want to run the power wires (not final), but im still working on ground wire routes.

Mids and Highs:
For the mids I'm running 8 Crescendo Audio PWX mids. These will be put in custom fiberglass door panels. For Tweeters I'm running 4 Lanzar OptiDrive 4" supertweets. The mids and highs will be powered off of 2 JAD800.4s to give the rear amp rack a nice, clean look.

Box and Car:

I'm running a lot of birch. A. Lot. The box will be double baffle all the way around with a triple baffle on the front. For bracing I'll be using 1" threaded rod with oversized washers. The plan is to paint the box face white and add black decals to support my teams. For vibration control, 80sq ft of NVX sound deadening will join the 20 sqft already in the car. I'll be redoing my rear deck to black out the rear portion, since it wont be seen anyways.

This build list is not quite finalized, as I plan to do more research over the next few weeks. I begin the purchasing and building as early as next week. Expected completion date: Late September-Early October. Stay tuned for the progress as I move into the building phase!
