xan326 Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 2/0 welding = 1/0 car audio That's actually not true. Its close to 2/0 but it isn't 2/0. There is a slight difference between oversized 1/0 and normal 2/0. 2/0 AWG is 133mcm, Knu's oversized 1/0 is 128.625. Not sure on SHCA, I'm not seeing numbers on their site, theirs might be larger, but Knu lists their strand size and count so they're easily usable in comparison. On that note, Knu's 4/0 is slightly above 250mcm wire. They could actually advertise it as 250mcm.
SIDE SHOW Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 I wouldn't use it to run from your amp to your speakers, but is a cheaper alternative to 0,2 & 4 gauge pwr and earth wires
betweenmatt Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 woah I didn't even think of using welding cable lol. I'm planning on doing the big 3 soon, and was crying at the price of 1/0 wire on sonicelectronix lol
magillaru Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 EDIT: 2/0 welding = 1/0 car audio (+/- 5mcm) lol Singer Alternators Team Asshole #anothershittysingerbuild
