rockFord_Expedition
I really like how you tackled those doors. How did you go about securing the plywood frame to the door panel before body filler? How did you go about securing the plywood frame to the door panel before body filler?Thank you! I had the same question before I started my doors and could not find a distinct answer anywhere, all it took was a few 2 1/2" screws to secure it to the door and then I let the filler do the rest. Thats what I was picturing then I thought, well the wood would probably split. Nice work man. Well it's just like building a box, just predrill all your holes and keep your screws straight and true, it also helps that I'm using birch vs. MDF so I haven't had the first split, have gotten a few splinters (the wood not me) though. Btw, studying for a calculus quiz right now but I will post some electrical pics and my ostrich skin seats after I get out class, haha Team Lethal Pressure Vice-President 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew -Taramps DSP 3000 (subs) -Taramps DSP 1600 (mids) -8 Skar Audio FSX Mids -4 Skar Audio VX35-ST Super Tweets -85' of 1/0 EB Flex Welding Cable -XS D3400 under the hood -Datasafe 12HX505-FR in the rear (110 ah) -Pioneer AVH-2700BS -2 Soundqubed HDS315's -4th order Blowthrough -100 Sq. feet of deadener (Qmat, GP STFU, Noico) -147.8 @ 40 Hz -Top 5 in 904 SPL Outlaw's Walled List -Rebuild on the way
kcarter1227
I know I'm asking a pretty small crowd of people this right now but what's the best was about getting wires through the box into the cab in a blowthrough? I always thought to use threaded rods but that's not really feasible? I guess directly lead the wires through the box through a boot and into the cab and just caulk the hell out of it. Curious if anyone has any ideas as to how to do that. I have no experience with this at all but my first thought would be SAFELY running through the bed floor and then into the cab from underneath.......I'm sure there's a better way but just a thought. kcarter1227
Loving the look of those doors. Cant wait to see them finished. Okay this is showing off my "newness" but what else would you do to the doors? Or are you talking about the black accents? Structurally they are 99% finished and the other 1% im not worried about in the slightest. If you're talking about coloring then yes, I can't wait till I color them as well, I'm matching my dash and rear doors with it but just trying to figure out what I want to do because the gray on my dash is a little faded but I don't want to sand and paint the WHOLE thing Team Lethal Pressure Vice-President 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew -Taramps DSP 3000 (subs) -Taramps DSP 1600 (mids) -8 Skar Audio FSX Mids -4 Skar Audio VX35-ST Super Tweets -85' of 1/0 EB Flex Welding Cable -XS D3400 under the hood -Datasafe 12HX505-FR in the rear (110 ah) -Pioneer AVH-2700BS -2 Soundqubed HDS315's -4th order Blowthrough -100 Sq. feet of deadener (Qmat, GP STFU, Noico) -147.8 @ 40 Hz -Top 5 in 904 SPL Outlaw's Walled List -Rebuild on the way
