.Supra.
well if you dont know i blew my type because im a dumbass and i didnt know that bass boost can kill your woofer so the cone separated completely from the coil so it was donezors so i took it to best buy and they took a look at it and said that they dont have any type r's but they do have one p3 dual 4ohm 12" and so i said ok just to try somethin new after installing it i turned the bass boost to -12(lowest setting) and turned the gain down a little bit. but it sounds ok but i really want to make a custom because its just not sounding as good as it could sound here are the vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eobJy2veoQI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIjcaEs9ACU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CP-ymdxN-c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0RFIvShWT0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAIrlswyJ_g i also moved the box further back and it made it louder so thats good. does having your box closer to the back of the trunk make it louder because it did in my case here are some pics of the type r blown and the p3 the new p3 comments welcome

sdrawkcaB
Thats nice. I have two of those 12" RF P3D412's, and I've heard those type R's in person too. Once your Rockford gets broken in, I'll guarntee you'll like it more. Are you going to port your box? I kept mine sealed because I have small trunk space in my 77 Nova, each sub only needs 1 cube a piece (reccomended) so yeah... So I think you will like your "upgrade" either way you go Nice vids btw. .Supra.
cant say.... because ive messed with the amp settings since but theres less flex but since i moved the box further back it was loud again i dont think it was a clean sounding as the type r but it seems to be hitting the lows better though it might have to do with adjusting the settings so i cant really say. there pretty close thats all i can really say i just want my new box because i know it will sound good how big should i go with it. i want it to sound clean but loud and hit lows with ease but one thing ive notice after turning the bass boost off my woofer is staying cooler a lot better. bass boost= woofer cooker Edited April 4, 2008 by .Supra. jonn_jonn
nice looks like they can do some boom lol my boy is buying those for his car a lil 2dr so they should bang! lol nice though what kinda box do you have now?
sdrawkcaB
how big should i go with it. i want it to sound clean but loud and hit lows with ease I have 1.2 cubes per sub in a sealed box. As for ported, I can't say because I've never heard thes subs ported. (I take that back, I heard one 10" p2 ported at BestBuy lol) Oh, and since they are dual 4 ohm subs, they can be wired down to one ohm too. But take a look at this: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/libr...412_revA-TS.pdf If you look at the numbersand the graph, it might give you a little eatra info to help you decide. But like I said, I've never heard this sub ported so I cannot give an unbiased opinion.
