chris j m
ok guys , my original plan was to get a b2 zero.7 amp to run two fi sp4s , only now a good deal has come up, and for cheaper I can get a b2 serum 7k . I have a dd1 so I know I can get clean power if I get the 7k , would I be able to set the gain to put out only 6k or 7k rms to the subs ? the rms rating of the b2 7k is 8,500 rms at 1 ohm ,I have seen a few dyno videos on the b2 amps and they seem to do rated and then some . am I going to be risking sending way too much power to the subs if I use this amp , even with the gain turned down ?? CleanSierra
The subs should be able to take what that amp can give if it's clean power and the amp is set up with an O-scope or a DD-1. Many run those subs on similar power(or more), so you should be fine. The enclosure will determine part of what is safe and what isn't as well. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
