Courage68 Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 Hey guys , after doing a full car stereo including amps , i have hum noise at low volume im getting a non rpm dependent electrical noise coming through speakers when radio is at very low volumes. the noise does NOT amplifiy if i turn the volume up. What ive done and tried. all gound connections wire brushed and ensured a great connection to metal - still there --0 gauge ground wire from alternator to battery - still there --0 gauge ground from body to battery - still there --new agm battery. - still there --i tried a different radio - still there --if i connect my portable mp3 player directly to the amp via 3.5mm to rca --noise is gone--ran a new ground to the radio. -- still there --even tried running power and ground directly from the battery to the radio . - still there -- new rca's - still there -- im just completly stumped with this one guys.
Kyblack76 Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 Pioneer deck? SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
Magnon Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 might be your deck. i had a old pioneer deck that started making a hum noise come to fine out the front rca output went bad.
mnrookie Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 I'm guessing it's a blown pico fuse. You could also try grounding your rca's to the deck case like so http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/sublimewind/install%20helper%20pics/Prelude158.jpg

Courage68 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Report Posted January 31, 2015 one radio was a pioneer another was a chinese radio i had laying round. i could try my JVC kd-ahd69 radio and see if anything happens. i know this radio makes 0 noise , its currently hooked up and used for my computer.
wizart383 Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 Not sure if the work but I'll try checking to see that there's no power or electrical harness running near your RCA cables
Courage68 Posted February 1, 2015 Author Report Posted February 1, 2015 Not sure if the work but I'll try checking to see that there's no power or electrical harness running near your RCA cables i thought the same thing , no luck . i even un-ran the cables and just had them go directly from the head unit in my hands to over my seats and then to the amp.
Courage68 Posted February 1, 2015 Author Report Posted February 1, 2015 theres another thing i forgot to mention , when i put the volume to 0 it dissapears. put it to 1 , it comes back.
