removing epoxy from a sub

hi, I'm reconing 4 15's for my new build, when removing the old suspension I noticed that these were built extremely well, It appears that epoxy was used on the spider landings and is proving to be a bitch to get off.

What do you all use when encountering this? I have let them soak in acetone to no avail, I've been sanding and grinding for two days and just barely finished one. I know that there has got to be an easier way to get these cleaned up, if any of you have suggestions or have delt with this before I could use the help thanks.

I use a big chisel to chisel off most of it and then hit it with an angle grinder. If you can't get an angle grinder in there I'll use a Drexel to break the surface and the. Some 40 grit on an orbital to bust the rest off there. The angle grinder is easily the fastest

Yeah, I've been using a angle grider along with an attachment with 40 grit sand paper, it seems as the epoxy gets tacky and just sticks to the disc/paper. I was able to get most of it off, the only thing that doesn't seem to want to come of is in the crease of the landing. But I wasn't sure if the little bit that's left was going to give me problems when I go to seat the new soft parts. I have done a few subs in the past and have never had this problem. Usually it's just a beed of CA glue holding the spider on, these seem to have been saturated with the stuff.

I think I'm going to pick up a Dremel maby that will get into the crease better, I seriously never have had such a hard time rebuilding a sub lol.
