Ok everyone I'm going to post up 3 options of 4th order designs I've done on Sketch up. I'd love to get your vote on what's the more popular design.

I'll lay out each one and explain my feelings on them as well, pro's and con's.

EDIT: Sorry folks, I should've put the power and subs. It'll be 4 DC Audio XL15's with AR cones Dual 1.4's. To start I'll be using 2 Crescendo bc3500's but plan to add 2 more in the near future.

Thank you.

Going to let this vote go until Friday and see where it lands. That way I can start looking for either a shell or a bed cover.

Option 1

This option is my favorite but has a couple of downfalls or concerns. This enclosure will be ported through the rear window. It's a 2.5:1 Ratio. Also houses a stand to raise it up to the window height that I need in order for it to pass through the rear window correctly. The stand also has a built in battery drawer. I'm not 100% sure on this design but it's an idea at the moment. It would allow me to open the drawer for access to add batteries, or play with wiring or just simply show it off at a show or something. It's built to spec on 32 XS Power XP905 batteries. I can utilize other batteries besides those, and I may switch up to XS Power XP3000's. This design also utilizes a camper shell.

Pros:

No cutting of the cab, just removal of the rear window which can be replaced at any time.

Enclosure built to fit between the wheel wells for easy removal if necessary

Batteries are easy to get to, load, wire, etc.

Only half the bed space used.

Cons:

Concerns about movement or how to anchor the whole unit.

Drawer sliding ability for the batteries, weight issues.

Only having about half of the bed space left

Expense of a shell

Specs:

Sealed Section - 5.68 3^ft (1.42 per sub)

Ported Section - 15.14 3^ft (3.78 per sub)

Port - 22 x 10 x 8

220 2^in port area

14.5 2^in per ft

Option 2:

This design is similar to the previous one with actually several changes. It actually eliminates the stand like in option 1, and rotates the enclosure up. It still ports through the rear window. Still is a 2.5:1 ratio. I removed the holed walls in the sealed section in this one and utilized galvi pipe bracing instead. Also still utilizes a camper shell.

Pros:

Much less bed space take up, approx half of option 1

lighter design

Cons:

Eliminates the battery rack and will have to probably make boxes for under the truck to house the battery banks.

Subs hang on the wall vs option 1 where they sit on the wall which would have better support.

Expense of the camper shell

Specs:

Sealed Section - 6.02 3^ft (1.5 per)

Ported Section - 15.17 3^ft (3.8 per)

2.5:1 Ratio

Port 22.75 x 10 x 9

Option 3:

This is another option that would be financially better, but not my favorite aside of that. This keeps it below the bed line, but the difference in spec is that it drops down to a 2:1 Ratio. Also stays within the wheel wells for easy removal.

Pros:

Financially less expensive for a bed cover vs a camper shell

More low profile and better security

Cons:

Must cut the cab for the port

Takes up approx 80% of the bed space leaving only about 19" of bed space available

Still must find another spot for the batteries like option 2

Specs:

Sealed Section - 3.0^ft per side (1.5 per sub)

Ported Section - 16.01 3^ft (3.02 per sub)

2:1 Ratio

Port 19 x 12 x 8

216 2^in port area

14.25 2^in per ft

43 hz tuning
