I could defiantly see that as a possibility of whats throwing your amp into protect. If i ever see mine drop below 12.5 im shutting her down What should I do since my batts rest at 12.4? Your battery might rest at 12.5, but play your music with your amps turned on for a minute or two and then see where your battery is at. I never listen to music without my car running, and if I do I turn my amps off. Just a personal thing; just like how some people like to leave their car unlocked so that if its broken into they dont have to replace a window. gizmo1 Posted February 21, 2015 Author Report Posted February 21, 2015 I am going to lean towards voltage being your problem. I would first tune everything and play it at a comfortable level that doesn't put the amp into protect, when you get your wire I would do the big 3 and see if that cures the problem. Just curious is this stock alt and batt only?yup stock batt and alt.

What is the max volume setting on your HU? Yea I'm planning on setting the gain today when I get off. The head unit goes to about 36 I'm guessing and I'm going to say it distorts around 26 or 27 I've never had it turned up past 26 besides the day it was actually working and that was just to see if it would shut off.

gizmo1 Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Posted February 22, 2015 Yea I figured it is pretty sensitive just that it did it ever time I checked it and it stayed steady at .8 after it dropped. Still didn't get the chance to set the gain right have a big ass snow storm brewing up with lots of rain so its going to have to wait I don't have a garage.
