Just from my experience with the db drives , at their 85.5db rating on the orion while it lasted just weren't very loud, hardly worth all the effort for the maybe 6db louder then my jbl powers on 1000 watts with a totally stock charging system... not only that but I run it loud every time I drive it and it's just not reliable to run the electrical that hard all the time on a daily driver, a little more eficiency is always a good thing as long as it still can handle some power.

Umm, then why look at subs for a 2500W RMS(daily) rating? I run 7K in my daily ride, because I've built the electrical to support that. My amps don't hurt for voltage whatsoever. I run my shit balls to the wall all day too without worry and it's absolutely reliable.

Your truck will support the electrical for 2500W, let it rip. If it's not keeping up, you've got wiring issues I.e. shitty grounds

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Your rite, I'm sure it can handle it. I I've just got limited space in a single cab truck and I figure a more efficient driver is the easiest way to get louder without changing my whole approach. And again about the reliability I'm a mechanic, I see how these things go for long term reliability. Its hard on the modules and does cut life out of the alternators to have that kind of load dump constantly working the system. That's another subject though.

Few people here waste their time with sealed boxes so I doubt you will get much advice since most don't have that experience.

I'm curious, how do you set your gains? You seem to have a habit of blowing subs and clipping can cook a coil very quickly even when under powered.

A ported enclosure is more efficient than a sealed enclosure.

I know you have preferences, and that's fine, especially since I could care less since it's your ride.

A 12 or 2 in a ported enclosure will yield more output.

Just sayin.

if you want it to get loud get the 2 12's in a ported box and it will get loud..

i see what you mean but youre asking for too much.. you want to get loud on limited space and sealed enclouser.. sealed might get loud enough but switch to ported and it will get much louder

and the 12s in a ported enclosure will play low like he wants. he wants low but thinks its the size of the speaker that matters...
