JVC Output Voltage/Sub Level Setting

Recommended Posts

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to find an answer on the webs with no success......

Does anyone know what the sub level needs to be at to get full voltage from the pre-outs on JVC HUs? I have the JVC kw av61bt and the sub level goes up to 10+.

For example, with my old Alpine HU, it had to be at 15+ (it also only had 2v pre-outs).

I'm not sure if the "sub level" is an attenuation control or if it's sending it into a clipped signal. I don't have any equipment on hand to find this out objectively on my own so I was hoping someone could help me out! Thanks!

If you have a Dmm you can check though set meter to av voltage one probe on the pin one on the outer shield. Turn it up and measure output.

Ok, thanks man.

I'm really tempted to just get a DD-1 but I'm hoping to get some help this weekend to tune it and possibly meter it.....

The DD-1 is one of the best tools I have ever bought.
